In the monumental Baroque residence of the Kounic family after the battle at Slavkov (1805) the armistice was concluded between France and Austria. A novelty is the made accessible two-storeyed underground of the chateau and the so-called dome where the battle at Slavkov can be seen in 3D virtual reality. A part of the chateau area is the Historic Museum and Baroque park, partly used as golf course.
On December 2, 1805 between Brno and Slavkov one of the most-renowned Napoleonic battles took place. The visitors come, first of all to the hill-top Žuráň, hill Santon u Tvarožné, Stará pošta u Pozořic or Baroque chateau in Slavkov where on December 6, 1805 the armistice was concluded between France and Austria. The event is reminded by the exposition of the Historic Museum in one of the chateau wings.
